We're so excited to announce our forthcoming Carol Concert, especially with the involvement of Pam Rhodes, from BBC Songs of Praise.
We are returning to St Thomas' Church, London Road, Boston PE21 7EJ, Thursday 10th December 2026 at 7.00pm.
Tickets in advance will soon be available from the Stump Shop and also on-line.

Boston Choral Society is a friendly community of music lovers who come together to share their passion for sacred and secular choral performances. Led by an excellent Musical Director and Accompanist, we rehearse most Thursday evenings (term-time), inviting all to 'give it a go' and join in the joy of making music.

Anthony Baldery became Musical Director in September 2024. He is an accomplished musician and teacher who joined the Music team with the Parish of Boston as Assistant Organist in October 2024. Originally from Southampton, Anthony studied music at the University of Huddersfield, receiving organ tuition from Keith Jarvis and composition studies with Richard Steinitz. After graduating in 1994, Anthony gained his PGCE qualification and started work as a teacher, serving as Director of Music at Marshland High School, Director of Academic Music at Ellesmere College, Shropshire and finally as Director of Music at Spalding Grammar School, where he worked for 11 years. Anthony continues his study of organ repertoire, receiving tuition from Colin Walsh, Organist Emeritus of Lincoln Cathedral. He enjoys a thriving business as a piano and vocal tutor and in addition, directs the Boston Community Choir and The Boston Choral Society, a choir whose founder was also organist at St Botolph’s.

Parish of Boston Music Appeal
In 2026, Easter Day fell on Sunday 05 April, the same day that it fell in 1545, the year the celebrated Tudor composer, John Taverner died as was buried St Botolph’s Church. During Taverner’s time, the church was endowed with a large choir made up of boy choristers and professional male singers. Today, the Parish of Boston still enjoys a strong choral tradition, that has broadened beyond our choir and encompasses a wide range of musical activities in our parish and also in local schools. The parish seeks to preserve and grow our rich choral heritage and recognise the incredible benefits music can bring to the lives of those who explore it.
This year, they launch the Music Appeal, an ambitious project to raise £1.5 million pounds to:
- Restore the Grand Organ in St Botolph’s Church – a fine example of British Organ Building of the early 20th Century, by Harrison and Harrison of Durham.
- Provide a financial endowment to support the broad and far reaching opportunities offered by our music team to promote high quality music education for groups and individuals.
- Replace the organ in St Thomas’ church, Boston with a good quality pipe organ.
